About William and Mary Model Congress

We are bringing together experienced William and Mary students to help establish this college's fourth Model Congress conference. This program will be an excellent introduction for high-school students to the American political and legislative system. Anyone interested should be sure to get more information from William and Mary Model Congress staff ( JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING ).

Meet this year's Conference Staff.

For newcomers to the Model Congress program, each conference is a simulation of the U.S. Congress's Senate and House of Representatives. Each branch is divided up into individual committees. Here, students will actively take on the roles of Senators and Representatives, passing legislation, practicing proper parliamentary procedure, and debating and compromising on the very fundamentals of what governs over daily life. Through this experience, delegates become better compromisers and public speakers while learning extensively about government in an exciting and intriguing way.

We look forward to seeing many students in Williamsburg for this unique opportunity to learn government at the college that taught many of this nation's founders. Anyone interested in learning more about this country's law-making bodies and wants to make it better in the future should be sure to attend.
